For the first time in a long time, I have no clear cut favorite for this award. We saw it before in the NBA but never in the WNBA. This is one year that I would check the box marked "Both" for this year's ROTY. By both, I mean Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.

I am not part of the voting apparatus so I have only one sure fire answer to be true. Between Reese and Clark, they will be one and two in voting. I don't know who will be first but I do know it is between those two. I believe this vote is going to come down to two variables, who's style of play you prefer and who has the most momentum at the end of the season.

Nobody can deny the greatness that has been on display by both players. Angel Reese has been the more consistent with her play though it is not as "pretty" as Caitlin Clark's game. Caitlin Clark has had higher highs in the more celebrated categories but has also had the lower lows in a major category, turnovers. Reese has been a double double master this year as she bangs in the paint while Clark has worked her magic from the outside with her three point shooting.

At the midpoint of the season, I have to give the nod to Angel Reese. Her play has had a major impact on the way the Sky play. Her rebounding and ability to run the floor has opened up the game for her teammates to do what they do best. And though you can't take away what Caitlin Clark has done, her play is more erratic. There is still a lot of the season to go so we will have to see how everything plays out.

I won't be disappointed with which ever player wins the award. A great argument can be made for either player, but this year more than ever I would not have a problem with Co-ROTY.
