My Philosophy of the Game

There are so many details that I can get into when it comes to my philosophy of the game.  Below I have a quick list of topics and points that I hold to a high standard.  Over time, this list will grow as I continue watching and learning the game of basketball.

Important Points

What happens on the court, stays on the court

This simply means whatever happens during the course of the game should not carry over into your life outside of the game.

Championships are won Inside Out

Winning always starts working the inside then working your way out.  Every championship was won this way, even the Golden State Warriors.

If you have an excuse, don't get on the court

It doesn't matter your age, size, race, health status, etc. When you get on the court that all goes out the window.  If you are going to put a caveat on a win or loss then don't play.

Talk trash and take trash

If you can talk and showboat when you're up, be able to take it from others when you are down.  Just as you give it, you have to be able to take it.

Learn your craft

Something that I am a huge proponent of is studying the game.  Learn new moves as well as old moves.  Learn purpose of plays and not just run them.  Also learn those who came before you.

Don't cheat the game

In my opinion, if you can't play the game the way it was intended then don't play at all.  Preparation is also included in this.  Don't look for short cuts.
