My 2024 All WNBA Take

The WNBA just released its list of players awarded to the All WNBA First and Second Team. For the most part, I do agree with the list. The voters did a solid job but I give the list an A-. I have two things that I would change on the list.
The one I will probably get the most grief about is the Angel Reese snub. I know she didn't finish the season and that may have played a role as well as the team not making the playoffs. Looking at who made the list, its hard to argue Reese not making the list if those are the factors. If you take those off the table, her stats were good enough to make the Second Team. She averaged a double double with 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds and on the defensive end she had 1.3 steals. She had really good stats all around.
My other change would be Caitlin Clark making the First Team. In my opinion, I believe Arike Ogunbowale was more deserving of the First Team position. Caitlin had a great year and I will not argue that. I also believe the popularity of Clark helped her reach the First Team. Ogunbowale averaged more points and more steals, showing she played both ends of the floor more effectively. I bring up the scoring because that was the highlight of Caitlin Clark's season. Her assists were also important but everyone made a big to do about her shooting. I do believe Clark should have made the Second Team. She absolutely deserved to make the Second Team.
That means with my changes, someone has to come off the list. This is difficult. I hate to say this but Kahleah Copper would be the one I would remove from the list. The problem is she had a very good season as well. Coming up with shortfalls in her season would just be nitpicking.
So while I may have two adjustments I would make about the All WNBA team, I can't complain with the selections. This was a great year for the WNBA and I'm looking forward to the next season already.
